Writing

My writing brings together educational research, public scholarship, and reflections shaped by my experiences as a teacher, researcher, and elected school board leader. Across academic publications and writing for broader audiences, I examine racial inequality, educational governance, institutional change, and the possibilities for more just and responsive public schools.

Writing has also helped me connect questions emerging from classrooms, communities, and educational institutions to broader conversations about justice and public education. My work moves between scholarly inquiry and public dialogue, attending to how educational policies and institutional decisions are experienced by students, families, and educators. Across these forms of writing, I seek to make visible the relationships between everyday educational experiences and the larger structures that shape them.
